Place the onion on the bottom of the sow cooker add the pork. pour the root beer over the meat, add 6 oz of BBQ Sauce, Cover and cook on low until well cooked and the pork shreds easily, 10 to 12 hours. Note: the actual length of time may vary according to individual slow cooker. Drain well. Stir in remaining barbecue sauce or as much as you like. Serve over hamburger buns, or as I used here, a lightly toasted Rye bread.
